Lurking In The Library

You are the music while the music lasts.
T. S. Eliot

Passion is a word that gets thrown around a lot these days – you can’t talk about much without being told to ‘follow your passion’. When it comes to talking about music this word carries quite a bit more weight. How many times have you listened to a song and instantly been transported back in time? Or heard a total ear worm that is so infectious you hit repeat over and over?

Fall is here and we’re gearing up for campaign; the theme is passion. Much like family, passion for music is something that we can all unite on, whether that passion is geared towards Tafelmusik, Rose Cousins, Bob Marley, or The Clash (or the brand new $200 Clash boxset that just came out that I can’t justify buying)… And campaign is the time of year where you can make your requests heard. So what music sucks you in completely and drags you back? For example, every time I hear Metronome by Nomeansno, it doesn’t matter that I’ve heard it a million times – in my mind the only time that exists is when I saw them at Sled Island with my friend Joel and the entire venue lost their minds at 4pm on Sunday – there was not one person there standing still. I seriously have to go listen to that song RIGHT NOW, but I’ll wrap this up with a request – support us and please please request that one song that drives you nuts in the best way possible. Myself and the loyal team of Library Runners will be waiting for your requests!
